Your files never leave your device. This tool runs entirely in your browser: nothing is uploaded, stored or sent to a server.

Test your camera and microphone in a minute before you film a UGC ad: mic level, room noise, light on your face, framing, and a teleprompter over the lens. Nothing is recorded or uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Press Start and allow the camera and microphone. The picture is shown to you only.
  2. Speak normally and watch the mic meter. Aim for the loud parts to land well below the red end.
  3. Press Measure room noise and stay silent for three seconds to get a noise estimate.
  4. Check the exposure score and the framing guide, then paste your script into the teleprompter, set the speed and start it.

What the checks tell you

The mic meter shows your level in dBFS, where 0 is the loudest the microphone can record. Peaks near 0 will clip and distort, and a voice that barely moves the meter will sound thin once amplified. The room-noise estimate is the average level during three seconds of silence. It depends on your device's input gain, so use it to compare rooms and fixes, not as a lab figure.

The exposure score reads a brightness histogram from the face area when face detection is on, otherwise from the centre of the frame, and flags a face that is too dark or too bright. It is an estimate, not a light meter. The framing guide marks a 9:16 frame with a headroom line so your head sits where ad placements leave room for the platform interface.

The teleprompter

Paste your script and set the speed in words per minute. It scrolls in a window at the top of the frame, close to the lens, so you keep eye contact while you read. Turn on mirror mode if you read it through a reflective prompter glass. Nothing is recorded: use your phone or camera app to film, and keep this page open on the screen you are reading from.

Everything here uses your browser's camera and microphone access on your device. There is no recording, no upload and no account.

Privacy

Your files never leave your device. This tool runs entirely in your browser: nothing is uploaded, stored or sent to a server. The page loads its code once and does the work on your device. There is no upload, no account and no watermark, and nothing you add is stored on our servers.

Questions

About this tool.

Is anything recorded or uploaded?

No. The camera and microphone feed is analysed live in your browser and never stored or sent. Press Stop or close the tab and it ends.

Why is the browser asking for the camera and microphone?

The checks need live access to measure the level and the picture. You can refuse; the teleprompter works without them.

What is dBFS?

Decibels relative to full scale: 0 dBFS is the loudest level a digital recording can hold, and quieter sounds are negative numbers.

How accurate is the noise estimate?

It is an estimate. Phones and laptops adjust input gain, so compare the same device in different rooms rather than trusting the absolute number.

Why does the exposure score use the face?

Viewers look at the face, so a bright window behind you can fool the whole-frame average. With face detection on, the score reads the face area.

Does face detection download anything?

Only if you switch it on: a small model of about 13 MB from our own server, cached afterwards. It runs on your device.
