Drop in one video and export it at the four sizes ad placements ask for. Pick a plain centre crop, a blurred fill, or a smart crop that follows the face. Nothing is uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Drop in a video. Four live previews show how it will look at 9:16, 4:5, 1:1 and 16:9.
  2. Choose how the picture fills each frame: centre crop, blur fill, or face-centred smart crop.
  3. Tick the sizes you need and the output width, then press Export. All the selected sizes are recorded in a single playback of the clip.
  4. Download each MP4, or use Download all.

Which mode should you pick

Centre crop fills the frame and cuts the edges evenly. It is the right choice when the subject is already in the middle, such as a product on a table. Blur fill keeps the whole picture visible and fills the leftover space with a soft, blurred copy of the video. Use it when nothing may be cut, for example a wide shot with text near the edges.

Face-centred smart crop finds the largest face in each frame and moves the crop window to follow it, so a speaker who sits off-centre stays in shot. The crop box is smoothed over time so it glides instead of jumping. When no face is found it holds its last position, and it never moves outside the picture. It is built for talking-head and creator-style ads, and it will not understand a product shot with no face in it.

How it works and what to expect

Each frame is drawn onto a canvas at the new size and recorded with your browser's own video recorder, the same method used by our Ad Video Compressor. Chrome and Edge write MP4 directly. Other browsers may save WebM and will tell you. The smart-crop mode downloads a small face-detection model the first time you pick it (about 13 MB, then cached); the other modes load nothing extra.

Because the clip is re-recorded as it plays, exporting takes about as long as the video, however many sizes you tick. This suits ads of a minute or less. Going from a 16:9 source to 9:16 removes most of the picture, so shoot with the vertical frame in mind where you can, and check the 9:16 safe zones before you publish.

Questions

About this tool.

Is my video uploaded?

No. The video is decoded, cropped and re-encoded by your browser. The face model, when you use smart crop, runs on your device too.

Why does export take as long as the video?

The browser records the canvas while the video plays, which needs no server and no install. All the sizes you tick are recorded together in one pass.

How does the face-centred crop work?

A small open-source face detector (MediaPipe, Apache 2.0) finds the largest face in the frame, and the crop window follows it with smoothing. It only moves the window; it does not zoom or change the picture.

What if there is no face in the video?

The crop stays at the last known position, or the centre if none was found. For product shots use centre crop or blur fill.

Will I get an MP4?

In current Chrome and Edge, yes. If your browser cannot record MP4 it saves WebM and says so.

Does it keep the audio?

Yes, the original soundtrack is recorded with each version. Tick the mute option to remove it.
