Result
Your files never leave your device. This tool runs entirely in your browser: nothing is uploaded, stored or sent to a server.
See your file's resolution, length, size and frame rate, check it against each platform's limits, then export a smaller copy at the aspect ratio you choose.
How to use it
- Drop in a video. The specs card shows its resolution, duration, file size and frame rate, with a PASS or FAIL line for each platform.
- Pick an aspect ratio: 9:16 for Reels, TikTok and Shorts, 4:5 for the Meta feed, 1:1 or 16:9 for the rest.
- Choose a target file size and whether to fit the picture inside the frame or fill it by cropping.
- Press Compress and leave the tab open. The browser plays the video once while it records the new file, so a 30-second ad takes about 30 seconds.
How the compression works
The tool draws each frame onto a canvas at the new size and records that canvas, together with the original audio, using the MediaRecorder built into your browser. The bitrate is calculated from your target size and the clip length, so the output lands close to the size you asked for. Chrome and Edge can write MP4 directly; browsers that cannot will give you WebM, which Meta and TikTok also accept in most cases, but MP4 is the safest format for upload.
Because it records in real time, this suits ads of a minute or less. It will not replace a desktop editor for a long film, but for a 15 to 30 second ad that is a few megabytes too large, it is quick and free.
What the limits mean
The PASS and FAIL checks use the limits most often published for each placement: minimum resolution, maximum file size, and a recommended maximum length. Sources disagree on some of these, and platforms change them, so a PASS here is a good sign, not a promise. Short ads usually perform best anyway: for direct response, 15 to 30 seconds with the product visible in the first frames is a sensible target.

Questions
About this tool.
Is the video uploaded to a server?
No. The file is processed by your own browser using a canvas and the MediaRecorder API. Nothing is uploaded.
Why does it take as long as the video?
The browser re-records the video as it plays, which is how it can run with no server and no software to install. A 20-second ad takes roughly 20 seconds.
Will I get an MP4?
In current Chrome and Edge, yes. If your browser cannot record MP4 it saves WebM and tells you. Most ad platforms accept WebM, but MP4 is the safer choice.
How accurate is the target size?
Usually within 10 to 15 percent. The encoder is free to spend fewer bits on easy scenes, so the file is often a little smaller than the target.
Are the PASS and FAIL limits official?
They are the limits most commonly published for each placement, and sources disagree on some of them. Treat them as a pre-flight check and confirm in the platform's ad manager.
Does it keep the audio?
Yes. The original soundtrack is recorded with the picture. Tick mute if you want a silent file.
